LAWRENCE G. KALUZNY

    Larry is one the most highly respected attorneys in Oakland County     and in the entire State of Michigan.  Throughout his nearly 50 years in practice he has helped thousands of people who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law.   Larry estimates that he has handled between 7,000-8,000 criminal cases in his illustrious career.

  • Larry was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  
  • He attended Cooley High School ('59), Wayne State University (BA 1963 and Masters in Guidance & Counseling 1966), and the Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University Law School) where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1972.
  • From 1963 to 1972 he was a counselor, classroom teacher, and physical education instructor for Southfield Public Schools
  • From 1973 to 1978 he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Oakland County under L. Brooks Patterson
  • Since 1979 he has been in private practice handling mostly criminal matters.
  • He has tried approximately 600 felony cases, including over 135 murder trials, over 300 criminal sexual conduct cases, and approximately 50 appeals
  • Prior training speaker for the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) and Criminal Defense Association of Michigan (CDAM)
  • Past chairman of the criminal law section of the Oakland County Bar Association
  • Proud recipient of the Oakland County Bar Association Professionalism Award (1999)
  • Larry has handled many high profile criminal cases including the Nancy Seaman case (Farmington Hills school teacher who killed her husband), Steve Szeman case (known as the Oakland County Serial Ski Mask Rapist), Leslie Allen Williams case (serial killer), Tarr Murder Case (husband and wife victims from Rochester Hills), the Bazzetta Murder case, the Donna Tripani Murder case (a Florida nurse who hired five people to kill a Pontiac librarian), and many other notorious cases
  • Larry has appeared on many TV programs including Court TV, Anderson Cooper 360 (CNN), Nancy Grace (CNN), CBS 48 Hours Murder Mystery, Snapped, and Due Process.
  • Most of all Larry is a faithful husband of 52 years to his wife.  He is also a beloved father and grandfather.

TODD A. KALUZNY

Over his 23 plus years of practice, Todd has established himself as the kind of attorney who prides himself on connecting with his clients.  He always wants to get the best possible outcome for his clients, no matter what their situation is.  Todd's philosophy is that everyone deserves to be treated fairly by the system regardless of their race, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, profession or circumstances.

  • Todd was born in Detroit and raised in Lathrup Village, Michigan.
  • He attended Southfield Lathrup High School for 3 years and then finished at North Farmington High School ('88).  
  • Todd bleeds maize and blue, as he attended and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology in 1992.
  • While at U of M, he served as the social chairman of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
  • He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School in 1996.
  • From 1993 to 1997 Todd served as a judicial clerk for former Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Gene Schnelz 
  • From 1997 to 2003 Todd served the People of the State of Michigan when he worked as an Oakland County Assistant Prosecutor under David Gorcyca
  • While in the Prosecutor's Office, Todd completed assignments in the Warrants Division, District Court Division, Juvenile Division and Circuit Court Division.
  • While in the Circuit Court Division, he was fortunate to act as the docket prosecutor for Jude Fred Mester (retired) and Judge Denise Langford Morris.
  • 2003 to 2004 Todd worked at the Law Offices of Thomas J. Trenta in Bloomfield Hills.  During that time he focused on insurance defense work, mainly representing physicians who were being sued for malpractice.
  • In 2004, Todd and his father Larry united to form the father and son firm of Kaluzny & Kaluzny.  It was a dream come true for both of them.  During his time in private practice, Todd has focused on criminal law and family law.
  • Todd has handled several thousand criminal cases and countless family law cases during his career.
  • Like his father, Todd also takes pride in his longtime marriage and his loving family.
